    Search and return values with asterisk (*)

    Hello All,

    I am working on a file in where the search values have *. for example, I am searching of 05611011, in my search are, I have numbers that are in * and I am expecting that the result is 0561****. is it possible? thanks in advance.

    I have attached a file with the description for reference.

    you mean you are searching for the literal value/string of 0561****? or you're searching for cell values that start with the numbers 0561?

    Using Power Query, I created a parameter that allows you to set the variables that you need. The attached file holds all the information. Fill in the data in I2 and K2 and then click on the Refresh Button on the PQ/Data Tab. If you want to understand this more, then click on the link below for a tutorial.

    Power Query is a free AddIn for Excel 2010 and 2013, and is built-in functionality from Excel 2016 onwards (where it is referred to as "Get & Transform Data").
