Waterfall Chart Dynamic Range

Hi all,

I have created a waterfall chart using the built-in chart builder in Excel. The chart is based on each business unit's +/- sales contribution to the division annual sales.

Each division has a different # of business units, so I want the chart to be dynamic based on how many units there are... I've scoured the internet and can't find any good way to manipulate the waterfall chart dynamically like that. Any ideas?

Your office version is 2007 but you say you are using the new built in Waterfall, I did not think the new charts where available in 2007.

A quick test appears to suggest whilst the data series can be set to reference dynamic named ranges the chart does not update when the range changes.

It does though appear to be dynamic when linked to a table. So it depends on whether using a table for labels and data gives you the result you are after
