Absolute fastest method to populate a sheet with formulas (especially multiple pastes)

I am trying to squeeze every little bit of speed out of excel.

I have a sheet where i am copying and pasting a few hundred, maybe a thousand times using the way that a copy and paste will change the formula references for the addresses I have not assigned the $ sign.

(my formulas are part of a series of a few hundred tables going down the sheet)

of course I am doing the normal things like turning off formulas.

At the moment I am just using normal copy and paste. In my testing copy paste formulas only was surprisingly only exactly as fast.

Is there anything else i should investigate that might be faster?
Each time i copy and paste i see i am doing two operations on the sheet (the paste and the copy) - is there a way to just keep pasting the same thing but for it to still adjust the referenced correctly? Also I feel like logically I should be able to paste formula (without formats) in a way where I might enjoy some speed gain?
If you want something done right... find a forum and ask an online expert.

You can simply assign a formula to an entire range without copy/paste at all. Turning off calculation won't make any difference doing that though - that only helps if you fill, so it may be best to use one of the fill methods.
