    Data split in different sheets and amount to be mentioned in the same month

    Hi,
    I am using an excel file where there are more than 5000 data are there. I need the date to be segregated in separate sheets as per A column (Expense Type) and calculate the total amount of Purpose Description and mentioned in the selected months. The same sheet also be named as per Expense Type. Example file attached. Request you kindly provide a solution. Thanks.

    Assuming that you want the data referenced from the Raw Data sheet try pasting the following into cell C2 on the TRAVELLING (GENERAL) sheet:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
    Please Login or Register  to view this content.

    Note that the range on the Raw Data sheet is converted to a table so that the formula will update as new records are added.
    I also want to point out that a pivot table could do what you want if:
    1. Values in the VoucherDate column are formatted as dates
    2. When the VoucherDate values placed in the Rows area they are grouped from 1/1/2020 to 3/31/2021 by month and year
    3. Month and Year are then dragged from the Rows area to the Columns area.
    You would then be able to change the filter in cell A17 to see amounts for other Expense Types.
    Note that to get the pivot table to update when new records are added to the Raw Data sheet, Refresh will need to be selected from the Analyze sub tab of the PivotTable Tools tab.
