runtime error 1004 pastespecial method of range class failed

I have a strange case. The routine works the first time however when I run a second time continuously, it fails with a run time error 1004. I noticed the area to be pasted is selected due to clearcontents from a previous run. Some googling says it's because nothing is copied. But it works the first time I run? Why the second time it is not copied? Any help appreciated!!

I figured out the reason but I am going to leave the question and answer just in case someone has the same issue: I moved the copy after the clearcontents and it solved the problem.
