Disable Items or commands on ribbon in Excel

I have read a few articles and/or threads of which one is :
    https://www.excelforum.com/excel-pro...bon-excel.html

Previously(currently), I was using Hiding the ribbon with

But the issue with this is that when other workbooks are opened, it hides their ribbon too.

I thought changing the "Application" to "ActiveWorkbook" will do the trick but that didn't do the trick.

Is it possible for me to disable commands on the ribbon for only the active workbook?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello Logit,

    Thanks for the code.
But it still hides the ribbon for all other workbooks.

The hiding of the ribbon from other workbooks is what I wanna avoid.

I understand the ribbon is directly linked to the excel application which makes it effect run across all workbooks.

That's why I was thinking; maybe disabling the various commands or buttons on the ActiveWorkbook could help.

I have tried recording a macro to see if those events could be captured but it turned out that the various tabs (for ribbon) such as file, Home, etc, do not get captured by the macro recorder.

Strange. The macro works here as desired.

Not certain why it doesn't work there. Let me do some research and see what else I can find.

    .
I believe the code I provided you works in Excel Versions previous to yours.

I have not been able to locate anything else that appears to be what you are seeking. You might try the following (it is customized for your version of Excel).
The option is not available in my version of Excel (2007) so I am not able to test it here.
