Disable commands Ribbon excel

hi, I have the code that accompanies the attached spreadsheet model that locks the copy, paste, cut, double click and so on, with the right mouse button and shortcut keys, however, the toolbar excel these functions still remain active. I wish you could show me how well I block access to the toolbar.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Disable commands Ribbon excel

I probably could but that would not help in the long run. What happens when you want the next file doing?

You need to learn how to do it yourself. Did you try any of the tools linked to on Ron's pages?
The process is not complicated, although it may well be new to you. The task can even be done by manually editing and creating the required files via notepad.

Start off with the CustomUI program to see the changes made to your previous file. You can probably just cut and paste that into you new file via the customui editor.

Re: Disable commands Ribbon excel

hI.

I have customUI editor installed but I need to know the camandos.

how do I get this posted last file and disable the ribbon which allows COPY, PASTE, CUT?

The code of the file you said to download worked perfectly for what I had in mind, leaving inactive options Macros and Visual Basic developer's guide. However, when I copied the code and threw it to my spreadsheet functions were active. Could you please take a look at my code and try to get to me? One important thing, I'm using two codes that block the functions of copy, paste, double click, cut, etc., cause a kind of completed each other and also calls them 'cause a password to open the VBA and Macros executor and, perhaps it is not leaving inactive options on the toolbar.

Thank you!!!

I opened my example file and your latest workbook in CustomUI editor.

The following was in my file.

Your's had nothing.

It has nothing to do with the VBA code instead it is to do with the ribbon xml.

Re: Disable commands Ribbon excel

I am doing something similar to this and am sharing the spreadsheet. Does every machine have to have UI editor to run the spreadsheet?

Also, I would like to customize the menu to disable cut copy paste only in 2 of 8 sheets. Is this possible?

Re: Disable commands Ribbon excel

So I downloaded the file (840485.xlsm) a while ago when I was playing with this. I just opened it up again (thinking it was something else), and now everything I open up in excel has all my commands overwritten. HELP!!! How do I "undo" whatever this file has done to overwrite my base Excel's program functions?

Re: Disable commands Ribbon excel

Also, opening that file has caused other havock on my system.
1) My Personal.xlsb no longer loads at start up
2) Each time excel opens, it appends the name of the Blank.xlsx file. Where usually it always opens Book1.xlsx, it now opens Book2, the next time it's Book3,...I'm all the way up to Book24 now and it's driving me nuts!!

Please tell me what the hell opening that file (840485.xlsm) has done to my EXCEL!!!! This is driving me nuts! I want my shortcut keys back (ie: ctrl+x)! I want to be able to double click on a cell to edit it's contents! I want my personal macro book to load at startup! And I just want to start with Book1.xlsx for crying out loud!

Someone help. I'm 4 hours in on Google searches on this and I'm getting nowhere. I'm about to delete and reinstall for crying out loud!

Normally, we would tell you to start your own thread with this, but I have asked for help from other senior forum members
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

Re: Disable commands Ribbon excel

Hello!
Please, how did you block the "copy" button from ribbon.
I could block Ctrl+C & Ctrl+V, also right click Copy&Paste, but never ribbon button.
I did this copying and pasting visual basic instructions because I new at this.
When I downloaded the file you've attached, I can't enter into the visual basic dialog to copy yours

would you mind sharing with me?

thank you!
