Fixing A Cell Value

Hi Everyone,

I'm having a hard time stabilizing a cell value and I think it's not possible to do it by using formulas..

I have the following data in cells; (columns actually but let's think simple)

A1: OPEN / CLOSED
B1: Some Data like "XYZ" or "BNG"
C1: Vlookup B1 value in a table array and get the result.

What I want is, once I select OPEN or CLOSED in A1 cell, I want the C1 cell to be fixed and never change again. Is that possible?
