KV , u r almost there , it needs to run for SEVEN letters words and then EIGHT , you will be able to tune that i am sure
Also it should I allow to search one hook kind if i leave one of the boxes blank

It does not do the work as it pours this for D , it not pulls for the SEVENS of the same , then it not pulls if I put H on front , expected it should have pulled OARIEST

Your expected result is the same as macro result.
Explain fully what do you mean by front and back and how selection is to be done.
column C are hooks back for 7 letter words
column H are hooks back for 8 letter words
column b are hooks front for 7 letter words
column g are hooks front for 8 letter words
It should pour results twice ( 7 letter words ) the ( 8 letter words ) vice versa provided it keeps a row to separate them
Foer any other letters give result. What do you mean by hook.
For L on L2 it should pick the below and nothing else since there are no EIGHTS with end L
