Question Need help deleting random sample from list.

    Hello!

    Please see attached.
I'm trying to generate random sample of rows from this list of nearly 3k items.
Sample lists are to be a set # of rows/items (initially 40) with no duplicates.
I've been able to use formulas to create the random lists without duplicates, but I'm struggling to determine a way for these random sample items to be deleted from the list once they've been extracted for the sample.
My ideal state is another sheet with a button to "Get Sample", a cell to input Sample Size, somehow limiting this "get sample" to only being used 1 time per day (prevent accidentals), and of course the list of the sample item rows.

    Is this possible?
I've been struggling, but I think it must be possible with a macro, but I'm just not seeing how.

    Thank you.

    Hello HItes_05.

Once your list is created, you can use conditional formatting to identify the dupes on the random list and on the original list.
Col. A would likely be your duplicated item number. Filter by color if you used color to find the dupes, and delete the visible rows.

    Pete,

This solution will work, but it introduces more opportunities for human error, which I'm trying to minimize (see ideal state). Thank you for the solution idea though.
