VBA to transpose a value in a cell that matches a name and date

Hi All,

Not even sure what I'm trying to do is possible but there are smarter people than me out there.

I have a Master Roster which is populated for the year with staff and all the know tasks they are doing for the year (as well as leave etc.).

On a work allocation sheet, I am looking up all the names that have no work allocated to them on particular dates. I was hoping I would be able to enter values here against these names (work) and have this then transposed in the corresponding cell in the master schedule. Is this possible?

Have tried lookup formulas and scoured the net for potential code. No luck so far. Any help appreciated.

Hi carlmon,

The initial are the pre-assigned task. SC = Shift Crew, M&S = Maintenance and Services, RDO = Rostered Day Off.
So the names on the the Work Allocation tab are the staff with no pre-assigned tasks on the Master Roster. If they have been assigned something in the Master Roster, they are not longer available.
So the remaining free resources show up on the Work Allocation and I need to allocate those girls different initials which then find the corresponding staff member and date in the Master Roster and update with what is entered in the Work Allocation.

Sorry, I've explained this poorly and I'm not sure that attempt was any better.

Let me know if I'm still talking jiberish and I'll have another go, or perhaps draw what I'm trying to do.
