Missing Macros

I have a large file, with 18 Modules and 17 macros in it. Today, when I opened up the file, the macros were gone, they're missing, and when I go to VBA, it shows nothing, it's grey.

This is not the first time this happens. Usally, I go to a previous version and bring the file up to date, but I'm tired of having to do the re-work at least once a week. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this, how to recover the macros, why is this happening?

On a side note, when ever this happens, a message pops up saying, "CAN'T SAVE There was a problem saving and AutoSave was disabled. Please Dave As or close and reopen the file.". When this shows up, I know I'm in trouble

Correct! It's still grey.

It doesn't. It's as if the Modules were disabled
