Save as dispay populte by cell value

Hi there,

I have a question, there is something wrong in my code but i can't find what. when I try to save a file, the save as display is opened in the right folder but the desired file name is not filled, can someone maybe take a look?

What's going wrong, my wish is that the saveFileName is loaded in the display text window.

Hi there,

I have sometimes experienced problems like this and work around them by "actively" switching to the folder in which I wish to save the workbook before displaying the "Save As" dialogbox, and then switching back to the original current folder immediately afterwards.

Thank you for your fast replay, your code works, when I put it in a new clean excel file, when I run this code in my current file, it doesn't work. I don't understand why this is happening. when I copy my data after the new file, the macro also doesn't work properly anymore. the folder location is opened, but the file name consisting of the cell information is not displayed. Unfortunately I can't put the file online because it contains company data...

Can you at least post the contents of Cells H5, B5 and B6? Maybe those cells contain characters that may not be used in a filename?

Hi,

The information is correct in H5, B5 and B6 with a standard format, the input is letters. I don't think this should be a problem, but I'll do some research and let you know

I still don't know what exactly went wrong, but I did find the solution. I copied empty cells from a blaco documnet and pasted them into the cells of H5, B5 and B6 and now the macro works properly.
keep finding it strange but luckily it's solved, thanks for thinking along and your comment about the cell formatting has made me think.
