Simple signing for packages system

I am hoping to create a very simple piece of software with vba in access or excel, which can be used to replace the book we use for people coming to pick up packages.

I am thinking you can basically enter your name and a text field in a user form (the text field will represent the item you are picking up) and then it takes a photo with the computers camera and saves it in a retrievable way (maybe the link in the database).

If we want to break it down - I guess the main part is if access/excel can take photos (i see some people online doing it with access but I don't know access very well) and save them somewhere.

Of course the result needs to be a data base I could search.

Seems this is the sort of thing someone might have tried before as I imagine it could be useful to many people.

There are two models one would be to get the computer camera to take a photo of the person picking it up
the other would be to take a photo of the package label.

The data base would only be recording an incident - basically on time X (i'll need that too) a person (Y) picked up sales order Z and here is a (link to) a photo (of the item or the person, yet to be decided but basically make the computer take a photo and save it).

Fundamentally it is about knowing an item was picked up - replacing the book that most businesses have in the pick up area.

the data base wouldn't have any information in it at present - sure I could add something to do that (odbc connection could populate excel with sales orders that are in the ready state) and it might be nice but it isn't very necessary and I don't want to make this overly complicated.

yes an employee would be assisting them - making sure they do it properly if needed. We would have security concerns with just letting them pick up packages without a person to greet them.

camera is part of the laptop, yes we are windows 10 64 bit,
although we could be windows 11 if that helped.
