Lightbulb Make a created file protected by password

I have searched many forums and have tried many things that I have found but am having no luck. I know that it will likely be something very simple but I cannot figure it out. Would someone please help me adjust the following code, to save the files that are being created as protected files (may be opened and viewed but not edited)? If a message is necessary if someone tries to change values, I would want the message to say only 'changes cannot be made without the appropriate password'. Everything else in my coding works perfectly, would someone please help me?

I appreciate all of the help that the folks on this site give me and will appreciate any help that be given this time as well. Thank you!Forum Sample.xlsm

No code attached. However, it may be beneficial to attach a sample file. See the yellow banner at the top of this page.

That was weird! Don't know what happened to my code. Okay, I have updated a file named forum sample for you to view. Thank you for your help.

There is no file attached (but your code is now visible).

I'm so sorry, the file should be attached now. I really struggle with these things because I just don't post enough.

I have still not received any help on this question: I have now cross-posted to 'ExcelFox' at https://www.excelfox.com/forum/showt...3401#post23401

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

There are different levels of protection. You can Protect worksheets which prevents people from changing locked cells. You can Protect the workbook which prevents the structure of the sheets within the workbook being changed.

And finally, you can apply passwords when you use SaveAs to save a workbook. This will determine if and how the workbook can be accessed. See: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/of...orkbook.saveas
