Does VBA program run slower in One Drive than hard drive?

I usually run it from desktop PC hard drive, but occasionally I want to access the file in laptop. In order to do so, I have to copy file from desktop PC to laptop. Which is inconvenient.

I am thinking about running some VBA files across multiple devices, maybe in One Drive or Google Drive (I mean installing One Drive/Google Drive app in PC, not on the webpage version), then sync the file across different devices. But at the meanwhile, I care about its running speed more, if it runs slower in One Drive (I run VBA program often on each weekday), then forgot about it. Most of time, I run it in desktop.

When file is saved in One Drive, and it is running, does sync setting bother its running speed? Not an IT folk, and does not much about computer.

Synchronization is a separate process that happens in the background after the file is closed (the file is transferred to the cloud). Since you will be running the file from a folder synchronized with the cloud on your computer, the speed should be the same as if you ran the file from another folder (on your computer).

So when file is open and being updated/saved throughout the day, it will not be synced till the file is closed?

I have never investigated when synchronization occurs. I would rather bet that it happens when the file is closed. But I can't rule out that it also occurs after saving the file (without closing the file). I'll leave that examination for you. I would be happy to know the result of the study.
