    Date Picker

    Good day, Gurus.

I have a 64-bit version of Excel so I don't have access to the Microsoft Date/Time Picker function. I know there are codes that will allow me to manually create a date picker in my Workbook. Will one of you gurus be able to help a poor lady out? Thanks so much in advance.

    Re: Date Picker

What you could probably do if you are interested is make a table with a certain number of dates in it with a formula that will make it so that table is always updated.
For instance the first date could be 10 days before today and the last date could be 10 days after today, or whatever you want.
I'm thinking the values only not a formula would be copied to the chosen cell and not a formula though I haven't tested this theory.

    Edit:
I threw this together, seems functional and you could format the dates the way you want them if you want to see what day the dates are on.

    Re: Date Picker

Try the attached - it should work on 64 bit - post back on this site if you have any queries and I will assist if able.
At present the code in the worksheet module restrict the area to 'A2:Z20' and the calendar moves adjacent to the selected active cell.
Selecting a blank cell triggers the calendar and selecting a cell with a date in enables you to delete.

    Torachan,

Mission statement; Promote the use of Tables, Outlaw the use of 'merged cells' and 'RowSource'.

Might be of interest. Bit surprising that something like this doesn't appear in the ribbon by default these days.

Torachan, your solution is great! Two items, when I click a cell, the calender does not appear next to the cell, and second, when I click in a cell with a date to delete, the calendar appears again. Thoughts?

    Re: Date Picker

As I stated, I thought it should work on 64 bit, I have no way of testing/checking - I know others have used it as a fixed position (centre of screen) app - the positioning module would appear to need minor code mods to make it 64 bit compatible.

Works fine for me and as far as stopping the calendar from popping up when a cell with a date is selected the added line might be helpful.

@skywriter, thanks for your input and confirmation generally O.K. with added line to suppress pop up.

    Re: Date Picker

    Good day,

Yes this is one solution, but I was looking for Microsoft Date and Time Picker from Developer tab, Active X controls, which i am unable to find in MS Excel 365.
What is the procedure to get the option in Excel 365.

    Regards

    Re: Date Picker

The ActiveX control is not available if you are running 64 bit - if 32 bit in the VBA editor see if it is 'checked' in the additional controls.
