    Report

    Hi All

    I am having a bit of a struggle and was wondering whom can help me. I am in the manufacturing industry and working a lot with non-conforming parts and products and continuous improvement. In order for me to achieve this i must look at trends and re occurrences etc. I tried setting up a report with a dashboard and report i can use for reviews but fortunately my experience is not to the level of the pros. Can someone assist me with a working excel workbook that will help me?

    If not, please provide a sampe (desensitised) workbook. Helpers will need to know the nature of your data. At the very least, provide the workbook that shows what you have tried so far.

    I have reviewed your file. It is a rather complex file that is not at all self-explanatory. Your post does not tell us about your data, file layout, calculations, or desired results. In particular I don't know the difference between what your file does now and what you want it to do instead.

    I have a little experience with statistical process control that can be applied to manufacturing, but I have no idea if your data is compatible with that approach. That typically involves exhaustive or random sampling of manufactured goods and measuring whether they are manufactured to specification. Then you use statistical methods to assess whether your process is controlled.

    I can't tell if your data is based on production line samples, or customer returns.

    So you need to tell us all about what you are doing, what you want to do, and ask a specific question. Even with that, it may be that your question is not an Excel question at all but a process quality control question that might need special expertise beyond what we provide here.

    Hi

    Basically, it is non-conforming parts that need to be addressed pro-actively. What i want to accomplish is trends of different parts, departments, processes etc. from there I want to Analize the data in data tab and report summary or dashboard to report to director

    As Jeff stated it is hard to help when there are no specific questions.
    On the PT sheet is an example of what I feel is a more easily understood display.
    The pivot table on the left side of the sheet references the Log sheet and the chart is produced from the pivot table.
    Literature on the subject of charts suggests that column and bar charts are easier to understand than pie charts.

    Thank you in advance for your help. can you Maby assist me with the data tab. i have inserted extra columns to make provision for additional info and it caused the whole worksheet to break. how do i fix it or how to I add columns and rows without breaking the formula? If you have a look on data tab you will find pivot tables that calculate certain info but after adding the columns all went down hill.

    its the workbook i previously attached if you go to data tab you will see in table Q5 that i added and underneath is the error and all the tables to the right is wrong now

    If by "underneath is the error" you mean cell Q6 then that cell is populated using: =_xldudf_AI_ASK
    Cell R6 is populated using: =CA10 which seems reasonable.
    If cell R6 should be referencing another cell, then what cell should it reference?

    No that is not the problem. I tried using AI to fix the problem but dam what a waste of time!!!! i inserted extra columns to make provision for extra info and with that all the cells to the left shifted which broke the workbook formula
