Linking to hyperterminal

I have a device link to a serial port. The data flow can be observed by
using hyperterminal. I would like to know how to pull the value in
hyperterminal into Excel.

Sadly though I couldn't get it to work. I go not response at all from any of the buttons
(ok I've not had time to try and find out why) but commenter's on that page do report it works.)

If anyone does get it working. Please respond here as to what they did. Thanks.
