Re: Opening and closing files in a Macro

I want to consolidate data that is stored in a series of data files into one
    large workbook.
So I am trying to figure out how I could
    1. open a series of files in a specified directory
    2. Copy a Range of data
    3. Paste that Data in my consolidate spreadsheet
    4. Close the source file
    5. Get the next file in the list
    6. Repeat

    Questions:
Can I do this within a macro?
Can anyone point me to urls that discuss gathering file names from a
    directory, opening and closing workbooks?

I know I have seen some stuff on opening a specified workbook before, but I
am going to spend much time finding it again. Hoping that somebody know this
    stuff offhand.

    Henry :-)
