View recalculation method while in full screen

Dear all, is there anyone out there who would be able to answer the following question...?

I have a workbook that needs to be viewed in full screen - to enable the greatest amount of visible data and to aid resolution.

The only problem is, the user has to press F9 to recalculate the formulaes (as it is set to manual when the spreadsheet opens) but are currently unable to see the recalculation message at the bottom of the screen, or to see the % recalculated when it is recalculation.

Is there a reason it is set to manual and not automatic recalculation?

Hi, yes, the physical number of recalculations involved in the spreadsheet means that automatic recalculation effects the run time significantly.
