    can a macro imitate autofilter

Is it possible to use a macro to duplicate the action of autofilter.
For example I have a name in cells A1 & A2 of worksheet 1 and want to pull out all instances of those two names (if they appear together) from worksheet 2 and display them in a third sheet

Try recording a macro when you do the filter. And even continue recording when
you copy the visible cells to the other sheet.

Then turn off the macro recorder and look at the code.
