creating a summary from a data dump

Hello,

I have been trying to figure this out for some time now... I am soo lost... please help


I have a data sheet which contains data for about forty products. For each month a new row for data is added for each one of the products.

the raw data column are organized with the following headers

Date(in A1) Product name (in B1) Price(in C1) MonthReturn(in D1)
from launch
.
.
.
Current month

I basically need to sort through this data and copy the history of the product for the past three years only into the summary sheet by name and date...


If anyone can help... please do... this is a very challenging task for a rookie like myself... Thank You

have you tried using a pivot table report in the data menu.

unfortunately i am not too familiar with pivot tables....
