    do events? background events

In the past i have used a statement when performing a long procedure that keeps the background windows events running? I can't for the life of me remember what it is tho. I'm sure it was something like Do events but this does not seem right, i used this statement in access but am sure it must exist in excel too

ANyone know what i'm talking about?

DoEvents (no space) is used to yield so that other processes can get a look
    in.
