    PivotTable: string data ittem filed?

I am just beginning to use PivotTable.

I use a numeric field as the data item. Additionally, there is a string
field as a kind of description. Is it possible to use this string field as a
data item? So I just want to display in the most detailed level. And
subtotal and grand total is just for the numeric data field.

    Is that possible?

    Thanks!

Re: PivotTable: string data ittem filed?

Now I know that I can have two Data Item fields. But I am not if the
following is possible and how to do that.

I want to have one numeric Data Item field and one string Data Item
fields. For the numeric field, I want to use the sum summarization
function. But for the string field, I just want to display it as it is.

Does anyone have any idea about this?

    Thanks!
