UDF sharing

I created a UDF in a workbook. It works fine but once I shared the workbook, is no longer usable. Is it design as such or is there a work around. Tq in adv,

If they're using Excel 2003, I think the default macro security setting
is 'High'. This automatically disables unsigned macros - the user isn't
even given the option to enable the macros/udf's. Have the user change
the security settings so that when they open the workbook they can
enable the macros:

1) From the main menu, select Tools>Options
2) Click the 'Security' tab
3) Click 'Macro Security' button (lower right corner).
4) Select the 'Medium' security option.
5) Reopen the file with the UDF's, and choose to enable macros.

PS: If you happen to be using Excel 2007 Beta, a button will be
displayed beneath the Ribbon that you can select to enable macros.

I'm glad to see MS has gone back to notifying the user that the file
contains macros, and allowing them to choose whether to enable them,
rather than hiding it.

Hi Dave. Tx for the reply. Just to inform u, I put my excel file in a folder and have it shared on the network. Once opened I also pick the "Tool/Share workbook.." opening it non exclusive. That's when I saw the message sayinf UDf can't be used. When the other guy opened the file, the normal security on the level of macro is displayed. that's when the column's Ive placed the UDF showed an error throughout. Tx again.

Sorry, I guess I misunderstood the issue. I don't have any experience
with the "Share" functionality - I hope someone else can provide better
information.
