First Time Poster - Questions about Grocery List

Hey everybody, I am trying to get some information on setting up my grocery list so that when I select an item it will have a preset amount in the excel and after each selection it will total the amount for me at the bottom...

    Need some help..

    Thanks

If you compile a master list on one worksheet (items in column A, costs in column B for example), you can then use VLOOKUP or INDEX to match prices to items on your purchasing worksheet.

Also, you can use IF function if you have a very small number of potential items.

Drop down lists can be used on your purchasing worksheet to prevent typos or alternative naming.

I'd recommend VLOOKUP for price matching with a drop down list for item selection. There is a function called match too, but I know nothing about it at all.
