    invoice that updates # Auto

    Hello All,
I am looking for an Excel Invoice / packing Slip that will automatically put the next number in the Invoice Number Box everytime you start a new invoice. Dose anyone know how to do that? Or can tell me how to do that?
    Thanks in advance

I posted this in a couple of forums, i was not sure where to put it.

Is the sheet used multiple people at the same time - as in a shared workbook or as a single copy that only one person has access to (eg stored on their own pc.) and a track of what invoice numbers others have used needs to be taken into account.

If multiple users is a identifyer for each person required or just an invoice number that increase each time.

How do you start a new invoice. e.g A blank template

Well, i think it would be on i PC in the Shop office. This would be used for creating packing slips to use for loading the truck and to print 2 copies 1 for the driver and i for the customer to recieve from.

I am guessing that it would be some kind of template that you would create the invoice and then save as then open the template again and it would create a new number. I am not quite sure if this would work or if there ia another way?

    Thanks

One way is a macro that keeps track of the last used number and increase that by 1.

This number could be kept in a seperate file (text file, spreadsheet) which the macro would update when a new invoice was issued.

This file could be simpley to hold the last invoice number or it could be a groing list that lists details like invoice number, date & time of issue etc
