    Spreadsheet model & buttons

I am not very good at excel buttons or how it works.
    And I want to learn.

I want to create a button on this spreadsheet - the button will be called z4 in the "Yr 9 ICT" sheet

    it will include the following

    rows Jane Bloggs 2
    rows Jane Bloggs 12
    rows Jane Bloggs 22
    rows Jane Bloggs 32
    rows Jane Bloggs 33
    rows Jane Bloggs 42
    rows Jane Bloggs 44
    rows Jane Bloggs 66

What do I have to do to create this.

    Hi,

did you create the other buttons?

To create another, (as per the others)
    Tools, Macro, Record New Macro,
do what you wzant for the display,
    Tools, Macro, Stop recording.

    View, Toolbars, Control Toolbox

the first icon toggles in/out of Design Mode.

In Design Mode, select a button, click-draw a shape, Rightmouse the button and 'Properties' and set the Caption, Rightmouse again and View Code, and copy the code from the recorded macro.
    Exit Design mode and test.

Let me know how you go

hmm., as I said in my second post, this was described in my first post.

as I said in my first post,

"To create another, (as per the others)
    Tools, Macro, Record New Macro,
do what you wzant for the display,
    Tools, Macro, Stop recording.

    View, Toolbars, Control Toolbox

the first icon toggles in/out of Design Mode.

In Design Mode, select a button, click-draw a shape, Rightmouse the button and 'Properties' and set the Caption, Rightmouse again and View Code, and copy the code from the recorded macro.
    Exit Design mode and test."

    which means

To create another, (as per the others)
    Tools,
    <<< click on Tools

Macro, <<< means click on 'Macro'

    Record New Macro, <<< select

do what you want for the display,
    Tools, Macro, Stop recording.

View, <<< means click on View

Toolbars, <<< means click on Toolbars

Control Toolbox <<< means select Control Toolbox

the first icon toggles in/out of Design Mode.

In Design Mode, select a button, click-draw a shape,

Rightmouse the button and 'Properties' <<<< means click the rightmouse button to select Properties and set the properties required.

and set the Caption, Rightmouse again and View Code, and copy the code from the recorded macro.
    Exit Design mode and test.

. in your previous add the user did ask for the button but you convinced him to keep the macro " back to index". <<< would you like to explain how my first post to you does not explain to you how to create a button??? and how my first post is to 'convince someone to keep the macro'?
notwithstanding that in many cases the shortcut-key macro is far superior to a button on every sheet.

Sorry I have been a little preoccupied with other stuff so no chance to look at forum.

    No.

I am able to create the buttons but do not know how to code the macro so filters the names I want. I can easily record a macro.

Any help here would be appreciated ...

    thanks in advance

OK on 'create' - the other buttons appear to have been created in the Forms area, (rather than the Control Toolbox).
If you create a new button, then rightmouse and 'assign macro' you will be in the area where the code for this and the other buttons exists. You can either record a macro for your actions and copy the code to there, or just copy the appropriate other button's code and modify to the new required rows/columns etc, or a combination, record a macro and compare it to an existing macro.

Let me know how you go with this.
