    VBA newbie

I am very new to VBa programming, and think I am diving into the deep end here and looking for anyhelp I could get...

I have a spreadheet with 6 worksheets. the first woksheet contains all the common identifiers in the universe (called "sheet A", identifier in column C)

the next four sheets (moving from right to left) contain data. This data can all be linked by the common identifier, in Column K in these four sheets.

What I am trying to do is have returned on the 6th sheet ("sheet F") the identifiers that have appeared in "Sheet A", "Sheet B".. to "Sheet E" - and any combination in between - with the data separated, and annotated. Also only what returned the data in sheet B to E (not the entire population)

As I said, I think I have dived straight into the deep end, so anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Wa_wa,

Can you post your workbook so we can see how and where the data is located? Could you also explain more about the identifiers and links on the worksheets?

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

To post a zipped example, go to “My Documents” or wherever you have your file stored, right-click and “Send to > Compressed file”, then attach this to your post.

ok thanks very much - excel file attached now.

Sheet one column D contains all the known identifiers

Sheet two to sheet five has a number of returns, with columns K being the common identifer

"Summary" worksheet details an example of which identifiers appear in sheet 1, sheet 1 & 2 etc.

Thanks this is v.helpful - but I was looking for a way to be able to determine which of the identifiers appears in each sheet automatically - rather than having to link to to them - which you can see will become quite cumbersome if with a v.large population of identifiers (I have attached again to try to show this)

what am looking for to only return the numbers that appear in sheets 2 to 5. Is this possible?

Can you give me a bit more information.

    1. From your spreadsheet, sheet1 has 713 unique numbers - is that all of them?

    2. From your previous post the limit the identifers went to was cell 1 to cell 41, I notice now that the maximum is now 59 on sheet3 - how are these lists formed?

    3. On your summary sheet, do you only want to display the numbers that are on sheet2 to sheet5 a total of 192 in this particular case, not all 713

Sheet 1 lists the entire universe of unique numbers (713 in this example, but realistically expect it to be much bigger, and also to continue to expand)

Sheet 2-5 will have any combination of the identifers in sheet 1, the sample size in sheet 2-5 is dynamic (ie n=5 today but tomorrow n=35)

On Summary sheet want to see what identifers appear where (excluding identifers from the universe that do not appear in sheet 2-5)

    So results would look like;

    Sheet1
    12
    2
    3
    Sheet 1,2
    23
    43
    1
    etc
