Unhappy Microsoft will no longer support VBA in next Office

I have confirmation that Office will not support VBA in the next version (see http://www.microsoft.com/mac/resourc...fordevelopers). My understanding is that this is true for both Mac and Windows versions. On the Mac site (above) they recommend using AppleScript instead, but I don't see how I can continue to create cross-platform solutions with AppleScript replacing VBA. I also can't imagine AppleScript having the power to code Excel the way VBA has allowed us to.

Has anyone heard anything about this? Any idea how Microsoft expects us to migrate over 10 years of VBA code (which runs the analysis at our firm) to the new Office program with no transition version in between?
