how to query mysql and get result into excel?

Hi all,
I'm very newbie to excel programing (though I'm a JAVA programmer).

Can anyone point to an article/thread that provides an example how to query a database (mysql) and retrieve the result to excel.

In other words, I would like to know how to write a simple command (think about a button) that once clicked it retrieves a list from a database into excel.

You should find this Microsoft Knowledge Base article useful. It walks you through setting up a connection between an ODBC database, like MySQL, and Excel. It also has examples on how to retrieve data.
