Beginner macro question

i just tried out my first macro and had some trouble. i made one to insert title fields across the page, and format them properly, and i cant get this macro to put the fields anywhere except where i recorded them in the macro recording, ie A1-F1, when i may want to put them somewhere else. do i have to change relative/absolute settings somehow? i want to be able to insert these fields starting at any cell i have selected, not just A1-F1. thanks.

Recorded macros are far less flexible than edited macros. If you post the macro that you recorded, we could see how to modify it to do what you want.

Just to be clear, you want the titles (strings) entered in what ever range is selected (not just the range in the recorded macro). Is that correct? Do you want the macro to "correct" if fewer than 6 cells are selected?
