    Unable to record macro

I am working in a large file with many intlerlinking worksheets. When I try to record a macro, I get a pop-up window that says "Unable to Record".

If I click on Help>About Miscrosoft Excel> "Disabled Items" button, it says there are no disabled items.

Anyone know why I cannot record a macro?

Also, don't know if this is related, but I used an older template to create this new file. The old template had 8 macros in it that I wanted to delete, but when I go to Tools>Macro>Macros, it lists the macro names but the "Delete" button is not an option (only "Run" and "Cancel" are options).

    Please help?

    thanks

    Hi there,

Not sure about the first issue (it may be a memory problem), but I'd say the second issue is the result of the workbook being protected to some degree.

If you can attach the workbook, I'll have a look.

It's set to Medium, and even if I set it to Low, I still get the same message.
