Hide sheets for specific users

I need a bit of help with creating the following:-

A user has an excel spreadsheet that requires updating by many users however she only wishes for them to see the sheets they require.

I remember doing something like this a few years ago for a school A Level project (unfortunately i deleted it and havent touched on excel programming for a while) - basically I would like to place a welcome sheet (hiding the other sheets) and then each user clicks on their own name and it displays just the sheet they need. Also if possible how would you go about adding a password protection for each user (this is not essential but would be benifical)
