Excel Crashes when saving after running Userform

    Hi,

I have an excel file that uses a fairly involved userform, which requires the macro to open and close several other files. However, the main problem comes when I try to save the file after the userform is done running. I set it up so that no other files are open at the time of saving, and nothing is being calculated by excel. This computer is fairly new (1.00 GB RAM, Windows XP), so I don't think it's a performance issue. Thanks in advance

    Hello jking57,

When posting about issues that cause your system to crash, you need to post the error number, the error message, and the code module involved. Also be sure to include what version of Windows and Office you have.

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

There is no error number, nor error message, and there's no code running at the time when excel crashes. I'm using Windows XP with Excel 2003

Excel simply crashes when I try to save after the macro is finished running. I'm thinking there's some sort of information overload when Excel tries to overwrite the temp file. There are like 4 charts in the file, but I have files with much more data in them that don't crash like that.

After I run the macro, I make sure everything else is closed, and then click save. Excel begins to save, but then it gives me a message saying that Excel needs to close and my data may have been lost. When I try to recover the file, all the charts are gone and all the formats on my numbers are lost.

    Hello jjking57,

From what you describe, your workbook has been corrupted. This can happen when system resources are low and you are working with large files or have several applications open. Data gets saved to the wrong place. Try rebuilding the workbook to solve the problem. Backup your work frequently.

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross
