Question get username of the "main user"

    Hi all,

    I have a little question.
Actually when a lot of people is using the same Excel file, the one who have opened it first have full access on it. When you open excel after, a little MsgBox appears to tell you that the file is in Read Only and XXX is using the file.
My question is: Is there a way to retrive the name of mr XXX via VBA ?
Moreover, sometimes instead of XXX we have "current user" or "user" is there a way to get the real network (windows login) of the one which is using the file ?

    Thks a lot,

    Cheers,

    HI

    have a look at

Check if Excel File is Open AND by Who

There are 2 methods on the page. Scroll down to the VBA Method and see how that does.
