Where can I find the 'open file' switches?

Where can I find the 'open file' switches?

I'm trying to set a file to open and have it NOT ask to use the macros.
Just auto open and answere 'yes' to the 'use macro' question.

Isn't there a set of /switches you can use after a filename to make it open certain ways.

Where are the definitions and examples of how to use that?

CLARIFICATION: this is not an open command from VBA, but wanting to open a file on the desktop...

    THANKS in advance! Phil

There isn't a switch to do that to my knowledge.

See Help for 'about digital signatures' and 'trusted publishers'.

BTW, my first job out of school was to design a SCADA terminal for Duke Power substations.

I've done Landis & Gyr and QEI systems. I almost hate to say it, but that can be some fun stuff... (yeah, I'm a little wierd)...

    Auto execute...

I quess that is the reason they ask the question, so you don't mess things up by running unknown macros.

I tried putting the file in the excel/autostart folder, except it opens that file everytime excel is started.

I just want this file to start without any fuss.

    Thanks anyways... Phil

    Hello scadaman29325,

Excel does have command line switches to run in different ways, but there are no switches to bypass the security warning for any file containing macros. Shg's suggestion about digital signatures is the best way to go.

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

There are ways by changing Registry settings, but as this is a Security issue most excel Forums do not allow such questions & answers.
    Hope that helps.
