A tricky search and populate question

Hi Everyone

Here's my situation. I have a series of excel workbooks (1700 of them!). Each one contains one sheet that is a chart for information from a lake. Each of these charts contains a locations id in the format ####/#### but this number is not always in the same cell location. I would like to find a formula that I can paste into a cell that will search the sheet for a cell fitting the above format and fill it into the active cell.

Any Ideas?
