return single result from multiple rows

    hey folks,

working with some data that isnt ideal, so i'm trying to make the best of it.

i have data in the following format:

    asset_ID / Category / Item
    abc123 / Building John / Smith Building
    abc123 / Level / 3
    (the '/' denotes seperate fields)

There are approx 4000 rows per asset ID (containing all sorts of info), with approx 150 assets per worksheet - with about 20 worksheets!!

I need to produce a list of assets sorted by location, to 'building' and 'level' detail. Problem is that there are various level 3's but in different buildings.

Can anyone help at all? I have done some macros before, but not sure where to start with this one.

Please help as I cannot face going through them all manually.

    Tracey

    Welcome to the board!

It sounds like a job for Pivot Tables.
