selecting a row to copy and paste

    Hi All.

I am looking for help in selecting a row to copy and paste, I have created a pretty large sheet of data with a lot of formula to one side which I lock and hide, I want to be able to limit the size of the row i select when clicking the small number tabs to the left so that I can copy the selected line to an invoice on sheet 2 at the moment when I click on a numbered tab the line cuts through the hidden and locked data the row is about 12 cells long, then when i try to paste it i get the message that i have to unprotect the sheet, if i could limit the selection to 5 cells then it would copy, can anyone help me please.

    Thanks in advance.

Shane, i moved your post to a forum best suited to the question, in future please try to do this to maximise your responses!

Create a dummy workbook (no sensitive or personal data in it) and attach it here using the tools in your replay window marked as "Manage attachments", in that workbook try to show which cells you want to keep protected and which cells you would like to copy and paste mentioning the criteria for doing this.
Not all forums are the same - seek and you shall find

Instead of clicking the Row Header that selects the entire row, just click the first of the cells to copy and drag across to the fifth cell...
