    Saving Data

    I may just switch to an Access Database, but before I do I would like some input. I collect some basic data for an event and I keep score for the event in a spreadsheet. The data I am collecting is contestant name, number, horse name, how much paid and up to 9 classes. Then I have to save the contestant's placing for each of the classes entered, the number of points earned for that class and the total for all classes per contestant. I think I would be better off saving the data in some kind of table, but I can't clearly see a good way to do it in Excel and still maintain the easy score sheet.

    If I switched to Access or Visual Basic the easy score sheet is lost, but the data is easier to deal with.

    Any ideas?

    Further info: I better add some more info. A contestant may sign up for 4 classes but add up to 5 more during the day just by going through the gate. So I have to add them to the score sheets. There are only a total of nine classes a contestant can enter, and they can enter as few as 1.
