    Excel Dropdown Boxes.

I have a Dropdown box that has about 35 Numerical Entries for commonly used standing work orders. Not many people know the workorder numbers by memory so Id like to add some sort of mousover, or other deal that will show a small description of what each workorder is for. I tried using the lil text box thing in the Data Validation, but it only allows you 256 character or something which is not nearly enough. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Take a look at Debra's "Display Comment Text" and see if it helps

    Thanks...

Thanks for that info but that is not what I want it to do. I already have it setup to where when a number is selected the corresponding description is filled in a cell. Which is essentially what that link you showed does. I was wondering if there was more of a mouseover feature but I do not think there is. I guess it will be more of a guess and check than i wanted. user will have to choose number then see if description matches if not try again.

    What about a normal comment

Post a sample workbook if you need more help.
