    Drop Down List Question?

Is there a way to synchronize multiple drop down list in excel?

Let me just explain what I'm trying to do.

So if (for a generic example) I have a drop down list of names in Cell A1 (based on the range of H1-H10...10 cells) for example, Kevin, Dave, Angela, Andrew, Tom, Mark, Betty, Amy, Lou, Dan, is there a way to create another 10 character list for cell B1 and synchronize them.

So if I have a list of 10 Names in A1 and a list of 10 different ages in B1, is there a way to have the age in cell B1 automatically change based on the name that is selected from the drop down list in cell A1.

So if in this scenario Dave is 32 but Angela's 18, is there a way to have cell B1 change depending on what name I select from the list in cell A1.

If there's not a way to synchronize Drop Down list, but there's a different way to accomplish what I'm trying to do (meaning having the info in cell B1 change depending on what I select from the drop down list in A1), any help and/or walkthrough as to how to do this would be very much appreciated!

(I hope I explained this good enough for you guys to get a good understanding as to what it is I'm trying to do)

    Hi

Have a look at the VLOOKUP function. If you build a matrix of the names in one column, and the ages next to them, then you can use vlookup to bring back the age based on the dropdown selection.

The help file is pretty good, and there are heaps of examples of how to use it on this site.

Thanks, I'm new to this so it'll probably take me awhile to figure it out. The code is a bit confusing for a guy like me.
