    CSV file separators

When saving data from a worksheet to a CSV file I get a comma as a separator. My colleague in Germany gets a semicolon. Where is the separator character defined?

I think this is a Windows setting (I use a Mac which is different), rather than an Excel setting. Probably somewhere in the Control Panel settings area. I thnk from memory it might be called 'Regional Settings'

This is where I would have expected to find the setting but there only seem to be settings for date, time and currency - not for field separators.

Richard was right, its in the Regional & Language settings of the control panel, then Regoinal Options tab, then Customize, then its the value in the List Separator.
