summary of data on another sheet, sorted in data type

hi. ive attached a spreadsheet and was wondering if anyone can help me automate the summary ive created on sheet 2?
The application is for a much larger spreadsheet and I only created this one manually as a simple example.
    Thanks.

Have a look at the attached file. It updates summaries when additional data is added. To get a list of the cars I put a Pivot table on sheet3 which has to be recalculated when additional cars show up in the list. This is easiest done by closing the workbook after data entry (with saving of course) and reopening it.

    Hello ,

The attached workbook contains the following macro. A button has been addded to the "Summary" sheet that will create your summary when clicked. The macro will automatically find the last row of data on the "Date" sheet allowing it to be dynamic.

Hi. Thanks for the program. It does'nt summaries the vehicle type. In other words im trying to see what the most popular type/ manufacturer of car is? Colour and registration can then therefore not be in the summary.

Looks GOOD! thanks. i must just delete the registration and colour because its a summary of type/manufacturer and total miles/km and when last driven that type.
Could this progam be expanded to show a 12month or 6month summary aswell? user specific?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello wyatt747,

If you define your 6 or 12 month periods as a starting date and ending date, you can create a summary for any period you want. The macro could be expanded to allow the user to choose or input a range as well. Which do want to do?

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross
