    Prompting password whenever recording a new macro.

    Hi All,

    I have some problem with workbook. I have protected my workbook with password. Now, i want to record new macro. When i try to record new macro, why its asking for password...???

    If you protected the VBA project (not the workbook or a sheet), then you can't record a macro without the password.

    Do you mean that you have protected the VBA Project, if so then you will need to use the password to allow access to the VB Editor.

    Hi,

    Was that a typo? Did you mean that you've protected a worksheet rather than the workbook?

    If so, and if you're selecting a cell and trying to add something, then you will get a prompt for the password. That's the way Excel works.

    Are you using Excel 2007?

    I have protected the VBA project with password. Now i want to add some refernces or macro to the VBA project through coding. I am able to delete the references. But why i cant able to add the deleted references to it.

    You can't change a VBA Project programmatically if the Project is password protected.
