Macro to Reformat Numbers in a Column

I have a worksheet that has a column of numbers entered as 1234567. The person that input these numbers should have done this: 123-4-567

Is there a macro that could do this automatically so I don't have to go into 1150 cells and manually change the format of each of them?

I thank anyone in advance that could lead me in the right direction.

A macro isn't necessary. You could use a functions.

assuming the number always contains 7 digits.

I knew it had be something simple. I thank you for your expertise and quick reply. You are a time saver!

I just added a column, used the function in the new column (inserting my P3 for your A1) and it works like a charm. Once complete I will delete the column with the wrong format.
