    Making the macro available on all excel files

    Hi

    I am nearing the completion of the macro that i am writing.

    What i would like to do is that whenever a user opens the excel file then a "Convert" button to appear in the menu bar. So user can select the button and run the macro.

    I have some questions about this;

    1) I know how to create a button and assign a macro to it. But then do i need to do this on all individual files? What is the best way to make the button available on all excel files?

    2) The macro copies and pastes data from one excel file to the other so obviously it makes reference to the name of source file. What can i do to automatically recognize the name of the source file and use it in the macro.

    Many Many thanks again

    It's best to stick to one question per thread.
