Copy and paste from one user form to another

    Excel 2003

It seels when I try to C&P fields and labels from one from User from to another I keep crashing Excel

I make sure the "Copied from" form is closed first but still - crash

    I can copy pg objects

    I can copy buttons

But not txt boxes or lbl's

Am I doing something wrong or is it just not doable?

    Hello Duce,

Your information is pretty sketchy. What version of Excel are you using? Are the UserForms in the same workbook? Are you copying the controls manually or doing it by code?

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

    Thanks for the reply.

    Excel 2003

    Everything in the same workbook.

If I open a user form in VBA and highlight a label or Text box and copy it.
Then close that user form and open a different user form in the same workbook and try to paste on to that form - Excel crashes (freezes and I must ctrl + Alt+ Delete to end process).
I can do the same process with a Multipage object and have no problems

    Hello Duce,

You may have a missing reference in your VBA project or VBA has been corrupted. Does it only happen with this workbook?

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

    Hello Duce,

You have a LOT of UserForms. This may be a memory issue. What were you doing when you got the error. I will see if I can reproduce it on my machine.

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

    Hello Duce,

I have copied from one form to another the objects you said crashed your system - nada, zip, zero, zilch on my machine. I strongly believe that either Excel or VBA has been corrupted since this happens with all workbooks. I guess backup and re-install might be next.

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

    Thanks for looking.
Any chance this is a VISTA issue or some how related to have both Office 2003 and Office 2007 installed on the same machine.

I have found that I can't work in design view without issues in Access in a Vista environment.

I really doubt it is a memory issue as I have 4GB (well in fairness this is a 32 bit OS so only about 3.3GB is being seen by windows)

Is the number of user forms going to be an issue for users who may have a lower resource machine? They would NOT be in VBA.

Thanks again for looking at it

    Hello Duce,

It could very well be an issue with Vista. I don't have it, so I can't test it on Vista. You definitely have enough memory even with Vista eating up a whooping 1GB just for the system. I am out of ideas.

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross
